LND
LND was the first protocol for the Lightning Network. LND stands for “Lighting Network Daemon”, and with the back-end service btcd users can run an LN full node. There are a few other services, such as bitcoind and neurtino, which is a light client for mobile.
LND lets users:
- Create channels
- Close channels
- Manage channels
- Forward incoming payments
- And more.
The team that developed LND, Lightning Labs, launched the beta version of the software in March 2018.
